Fixatile is a ready mixed tile cement specially formulated for use in high temperature conditions where ordinary tile cements are inadequate for the long term retention of tiles. - Ready Mixed
- Easy to use
- Excellent bonding properties
- Rated to 1000ºC
Fixatile should be used for fixing tiles in areas subject to high temperatures, such as fire surrounds, behind boilers, ranges, cookers and radiators; also suitable for fixing fibre rope seals to heater doors. Because of the cement's excellent bonding qualities only a thin joint is required, ensuring that a repaired tile does not stand proud. Fixatile can also be used for repairing pottery, marble and bonding glass to metal How to use Fixatile Fixatile should be used straight from the tub having stirred the contents into a smooth paste. A thin coating should be made on each of the surfaces to be joined and the surfaces then pressed firmly together. The cement will normally dry overnight but it is beneficial if the joint can be heated to some degree. When applying on fresh cement or plaster surfaces, it is important to seal the surface using a concrete sealer before applying the adhesive, otherwise bonding may be impaired. Surplus Fixatile must be removed immediately from any tile surfaces with a damp cloth. Storing Fixatile Fixatile should be stored in a cool, frost-free, dry place and kept air-tight. Heatproof Screed is a cement like material which provides a protective rendering for brick, stone and other vulnerable materials which can be damaged by exposure to heat. This fully blended composition, with a maximum grain size of 3 mm, is mixed with water to a trowelling consistency.
