Q: Surely as you don't advertise a phone number you must be a fly by night cowboy company, who don't give any after sales service and supply shoddy products?
A: Far from it, in fact we were the first ever company in the UK to supply any kind of chimney components over the internet, way back in 1999
The proprietor of Hotline Chimneys is an ex installer of over 10 years who has physically handled all of the products we sell and always thoroughly inspects all new products before they are put out for sale, he is also the person who answers all emails of a technical nature.
After sales queries/problems are nearly always answered almost instantly, when you have spent money with us we will not put your message to one side whilst dealing with more sales orders, after sales always takes preference.
Even new enquiries are nearly always answered within a few hours (many in minutes) and it is extremely rare for us to stop work for the day with any outstanding queries from that day. The exception would be queries that require many calculations such as helping design systems or bespoke items.

Q: Isn't this a rather unusual way to run a business and why would any company think it is a good idea?
A: It may seem unusual but after all this is the 21st century and email is an extremely good tool, it gives both sides a complete copy of all communications, which can't be said for telephone conversations.
Any person who works in a seasonal business of any kind may well sympathise with why we do this, we are a relatively small company (4 of us altogether) and therefore have the following two choices: 1, Employ enough staff to keep up throughout the winter months (and train them) but have to also pay them when things are less busy in the summer - 2, Work all hours god sends all autumn and winter and then not have lots of staff being paid when it is less busy in the summer.
Q: Presumably if you are small company you don't keep anything in stock?
A: At the last stock take we had getting on towards half a million pounds worth of stock, every single item we sell is stocked in depth with one exception, chimney liners. We decided some time ago that it made more sense to have the manufacturers send chimney liner direct for the following reasons: 1, The manufacturer keeps any waste - 2, Cutting, rolling and packing chimney liners is a big job when you supply as many as we do - 3, Even the strongest chimney liners (which ours is) are fragile in the hands of some couriers, one journey therefore is obviously better than two.
Q: Why can't I pick items up from your premises?
A: Our work premises are also our family home, also we are not authorised to have people come to buy.
Q: Do you offer price matching?
A: No, frankly to us this smacks of desperation, we prefer to set our prices at a fair level with at least some profit and supply the best and quickest service we possiblly can. In any case it is very rare indeed for us to be more expensive than the competition on any order (mainly due to our low overheads for the reasons above but also our bulk buying).
